Peace Pantry

Zach OHanlon - Monday, August 14, 2017

Comarco was back out in the community this past week at “The Peace Pantry” to provide an upgrade to a couple of doors that were preventing the volunteers from putting their full force into helping those in need.

“The Peace Pantry is a non-profit food pantry that helps people in need in the communities of Cedar Hill, Dittmer, Catawissa, Morse Mill, Grubville and those areas in Robertsville that are in Jefferson County, Missouri.
The Peace Pantry provides emergency and long term help to low-income families and individuals. Our services feed the hungry, provide school supplies and clothing and share the spirit of the holidays with those in need.

Volunteers run the food pantry. They pick up and distributing food, clean and distribute clothing and sell items in the thrift shop to raise funds to fund the pantry. Most of the Peace Pantry's support and funding comes from individuals and organizations in Cedar Hill, Dittmer, House Springs, Grubville and Morse Mill. We are neighbors helping neighbors in the spirit of community.“
We were tasked with widening 2 doors, one into the food storage room and one of the exit doors. These doors were not wide enough for the volunteers to move pallets in and out of the facility in an easy or timely fashion. Causing delays with delivery and prep time. We were also able to install a window in the new exterior door allowing the volunteers to see who’s coming and going.
